amplified portraits

No updates for a while, I'd like to say I was in Plymouth so couldn't access a computer, but thats a lie, I was just in Plymouth not doing much art (:
Finished my new Berlin moleskine.. when I get a new camera I'll upload some pictures.
Here's my work from today's Fine Art Photography project- "Amplified Portraits"
Inspired by work from Arnulf Rainer and Helena Almeida, we took photos of ourselves and then painted on top of them to amplify or exaggerate.

We took photos shouting out possable emotions for us to act out. I was giggling through most of mine. Got some nice ones, I think.

After painting over the top of the images we re scanned them - will be ordering proper prints of these from dear old photobucket.

quickie experiments

forgot i did these before going away (:

starting off with a sexist ad from the 1950s, I reversed gender roles, as shown in the bottom one. Used photoshop to add colour.
The idea came from the stories about men wanting sexual harrassment law suits filed against women, and while i agree 100% that if they feel they are being harassed they have every right to make a complaint exactly as a woman would, i want to point out that through out history, women have always been undermined and pinned down, so of course we will get all pissed about things like this being blown out of proportion.
i think ill try and find the link to the article im on about, when ive finished the other drawings, but ive been travelling for 9 hours today so im going to bed now (: night night x

Berlin, and why i have nothing to show for it

so very soon im going to start a new shiny moleskine all about Berlin, and use photos that others took to create it and memories and that, because mine got stolen in a wine bar. along with my whole bag ):
after the incident in Brussells I've been super careful with it, and just dont know how it happened, i didnt leave it on its own or unattended or anything, there were people around it the whole time. Anyway i got my purse back, cus it had my ID and room keys they tracked me to the hostel I was staying at. Got it back, and the grand total of 8 euros and a tram ticket good for 2 more days had been taken, fucking pathetic people.
The issue is, its obvious we're a group of students, so why would someone take a bag assuming theyd get anything decent out of it? the contents was, my gloves, a broken camera containing my photos from the zoo, my moleskine, a little bit of cash, unuseable debit cards, some train tickets for plymouth, and my keys. so absolutely nothing useful to this prick, but all of them so, so useful to me.
I think I've stayed pretty calm so far about it, didnt get all "smash stuff up" angry about it (: im maturing.
so hold on for one day projects about Berlin, and also completed fine art stuff  that im well up for doing. The trip has truley inspired me, but a ramble about it wont be much fun with out pictures.
despite the bag fuck up it was an amazing trip (: so glad we went. torn between the bunker and the zoo as being my faveroute bits.. love love loved them both.
So anyway figured I should post a little post about it, seemed the proper thing to do (:
